SITNARONG MUAY THAI Brett Harold Head Instructor for Sitnarong Muay Thai Australasia and Sitnarong New Zealand, Brett is also the coach of the Sitnarong fight team and is now based in Wanaka. He regularly travels to Christchurch to train the fighters and ensure the level of training at the Waltham Road gym is of a very high standard. Brett had an illustrious fight career in the United Kingdom training under Grand Master Sken, culminating in winning the U.K. Light Heavyweight title. He is known for his intense training methods and gruelling sessions but at the same time bringing out the absolute best in his fighters. Under Brett's tutelage, no less than 5 National and South island titles have been achieved. Dougal McKenzie The first and original student of Brett's some 13 years ago, Dougal is the senior Instructor for Sitnarong Christchurch. He has over 17 years martial arts experience and has had the good fortune to travel and train in Thailand under Grand Master Sken and at the legendary Sit Yodtong camp, largely regarded as the number one fight camp in Thailand. He holds several advanced coaching qualifications and puts his specialist skills to good use in his classes. Dougal works full time as a personal trainer via his business Knockout Personal Training taking clients for one on one martial arts/self defence training as well as regular health and fitness/strength and conditioning. STRIKEFORCE JU JITSU Karl Webber, 2nd Dan Karl has a long and illustrious career spanning nearly 20 years. He first started studying Takemuso Aikido in 1990 under Sensei Derna Trifilo before moving on to Ju Jitsu, He has studied three distinctly different forms of Ju Jitsu including Combat Ju Jitsu under Master Ron Evans, Yoshin Ryu Ju Jitsu under Master Terry Evans and also Rickson Gracie Ju Jitsu under Master Lindolf Collar. In 1997 he formed Universal Ju Jitsu as Instructor/coach and produced many National champions and top ranked Sport Ju Jitsu, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, submission wrestling and Vale Tudo (MMA) fighters. In 2002 Karl joined Strikeforce Martial Arts club under head Instructor Aaron Boyes to form Strikeforce MMA. 2008 saw a move to Christchurch for Karl and his family and eventually he was able to form Strikeforce Ju Jitsu (and MMA) Canterbury. Karl is known as a man with unrivalled passion for Ju Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, including an unbeatable thirst for knowledge. He enjoys nothing more than passing on his considerable skill base to those who have a genuine want to work with him and learn. He loves helping his students in to competition, whether it be for full contact MMA, submission wrestling or Ju Jitsu. He made his name in the early Vale Tudo days, before the advent of the UFC and other more tightly controlled organisations. He was able to put his back ground in Ju Jitsu to good use in the cage and helped bring the sport to the forefront for the masses. With the advent of Strikeforce MMA in 2002, Karl was able to develop a training methodology which has seen Strikeforce MMA be consistently at the top of the MMA tree in N.Z. He has produced 3 N.Z. Champions and while in Auckland had a 100% win record for all students who competed in MMA. 2009 has seen yet another N.Z. Champion being produced, this time from his club Strikeforce Canterbury. It was also the year that saw Karl being inducted in to the ICNZ MMA hall of fame for contribution to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in N.Z.
